First off...I am a vet of the vietnam war...I NEVER said I walked in a rice paddy....and I had respect for the CIC when they deserved it....I give respect to those who earned it...not to idiots like bush or chenney...you talk of respect, patriotism, and honor...how can anyone respect someone who got out of the war because daddy saw to it he got a cushy national guard job...lol...CIC....he couldn't command a dish washing brigade....

As far as education....I graduated from VCU in the late 60's....that's viet cong university in case you're wondering....and although I had a GI Bill...that would have allowed me to go to school when I got out...I had more important things to do...like go to work to support my family....

The problem I have with torture is simple....we are a signator to the Geneva Convention. If we torture...or allow our military to torture...we are no worse than the lowlife, scumbag al queda or any other "regime" that allows it.

I don't want to see my family or any American family hurt by terrorism...I think the "founders" wouldn't have given "friendly" quarters to criminals or the enemy....

I will tell you this....bush has created such a big bag of sh*t....case in point...he held an "enemy combatant" for 6 yrs....didn't charge him with anything...then let him go....he's now a top al quada LT....chomping at the bit to kill us.....if he had been at least charged...and tried...he would probably be rotting in some jail somewhere....remember?....like they did in nuremburg?

Not U. are you really that ignorant about the world? I know you are not a vet because you have to be stupid to walk in an open "rice paddy". Anyone that serves in the military has more respect for their CIC who ever it is. That being said, it sounds like you think you are educated but in realty u are not. The Dems where in power for the last 2 yrs. Both Houses. This means, for math purposes, 8 minus 2 equals 6 yrs. Why do you think congress has a worse approval rating than Bush the last 2 yrs. No Bush did not stop an attack himself, however, his policies did or could have, I don't know nor do you. You presume that he ordered each "animal" aka terrorist to be tortured, I doubt it. But if he did, I can tell you the vast majority of Americans would say good. Better hurt them then my kids or family. If you disagree with that last statement you either have no family or you are the type of person that I and many Americans have no respect for you and would not be bothered if you had the same fate by many Americans in the hands of these animals. Do you think the founders, that our new president is so often fond of quoting, would have given our British enemies friendly quarters. If so, may you never be in my foxhole.
